The Charlton Library Genealogy Group welcomes local historian, author, and current President of the Charlton Historical Society, Frank Morrill, for a presentation on the history of Charlton. Frank will narrate a PowerPoint presentation with documents and photographs and will follow with a question and answer period.
Married for 56 years to Lenore (Dufault) Morrill, they have a son Steven, a daughter Kristen and three grandchildren. Morrill grew up in Spencer. After graduating from David Prouty in 1962 he served four years in the military. A lifelong educator, he received his graduate degree from the University of Buffalo in 1971 and taught science, history and law for 33 years at Millbury High School, retiring in 2005. Frank has always had a strong interest in historical documents and photographs and has collected them for over 56 years. This interest led to the acquisition, in 2003, of the collection of William S. Bullard’s 6,000 glass negatives taken mostly in Worcester County including dozens in Charlton. In retirement he has written several local history books containing original photographs from the Bullard collection. From October 2017 through February 2018 he had an internationally recognized Bullard exhibition at the Worcester Art Museum. He travels throughout Massachusetts bringing photographic history to various interested groups. His last three books were co-authored with his granddaughter Hannah Morrill currently a college sophomore. Morrill is a 47 year member and current President of the Charlton Historical Society and a member of the prestigious American Antiquarian Society.
